BOH (Adel), Dental Hygienist and Dental Therapist
Ms Maria Petrou is a female Dental Hygienist and Dental Therapist.
Maria graduated from the University of Adelaide in 2008 with a Bachelor of Oral Health. She has 27 years experience in the dental profession working as a dental assistant for 10 years before she completed her degree. She realised that dentistry is her passion therefore extended her studies to pursue her career as an Oral Health Therapist. She has worked closely with children and adolescents with SA Dental for 15 years developing a gentle touch and understanding for anxious patients.
As an Oral Health Therapist, she is qualified in both dental hygiene and therapy with her focus on patient education, prevention and early intervention with any restorative care required. With her warm manner and friendly nature Maria aims to make every dental visit a positive experience. She finds motivating patient change towards their oral care routine and improving their oral hygiene very rewarding and satisfying.
Maria is a member of the Oral Health Association of Australia and attends conferences for continuing professional development. She looks forward to connecting with peers and staying up to date with all the latest techniques in her field.
