Ms Heather A de Abreu is a female Dental Hygienist.
Graduated from Normandale Community College in 1999 with an Associate of Arts Degree.
Graduated from Normandale Community College in 2001 with an Associate of Science in Dental Hygiene.
I am and RDH with APHRA and I am licenced with the Minnesota Board of Dentistry.
My husband and I moved here in January of 2008 because he grew up here in Australia and could not stand the snow and the cold of a Minnesota winter.
I past the Australian Dental Hygiene registration exam in 2007 prior to moving here.
In Minnesota I worked in a large multi clinic practice alongside a periodontist (gum disease specialist) who taught me a lot as a new grad, for 7 years.
I am a member of the Australian Dental Hygienists Assoc.
I have a special interest in the prevention and treatment of periodontal disease, preventive dentistry, fissure sealants, Zoom whitening, and oral hygiene instruction-helping people to take better care of their teeth at home to avoid a lot of dental treatment.
I believe that you do have to continue to learn since I have seen so many changes to dentistry in the last 15 years I have been practicing.
Since I have been here in Australia I have furthered my training by taking an orthodontics course to be able to work with dentists to help people improve their smile and function of their teeth.
I have also gotten my Cone Beam Radiation licence so that I can take 3D images of teeth when needed to review the bone around the teeth any disease and if there is enough bone for implants to be placed.
