Mr Oscar Bakos is a male Dental Prosthetist.
Oscar completed his training in Sydney in the most advanced, modern and most dynamic dental laboratory of its day; completing six years of full-time training, combined with study at the Sydney Dental Hospital.
Following that, three years were spent managing a research and development laboratory funded by the Federal Industrial Research and Development Board.He was involved in developing and testing of gold/ceramic bonding systems utilising the best available dental materials from around the world. The results of which are published in a prestigious English Dental Technology textbook.
Moving on from the research laboratory he opened and operated a Crown and bridge laboratory in Sydney’s Eastern suburbs. During this time he was involved in the development, manufacture and placement of some the first subperiosteal implants in Australia.
Ten years later he and his family moved to the Far North Coast of New South Wales to commence a partnership in a commercial dental laboratory and denture clinic with two other dental technicians/prosthetists.
After spending another ten years at this laboratory he felt that Northern Rivers and Lismore community needed a quality denture clinic and Active Denture Clinic was founded.
