Dr Ricky Shao is a male General Dentist who speaks Mandarin (as well as English).
Before turning his attention to dentistry, Dr Ricky Shao began his training at the University of Tasmania with a bachelor of biomedical science specialising in pathology. After that, he gained entry into the highly competitive dentistry program at Griffith University and obtained his dental qualifications. Dr Ricky has had extensive post-graduate continuing education in every aspect of general dentistry. He is a member of the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT) and has been SMART certified.
Dr Ricky has developed a strong interest in holistic dentistry since meeting Dr David Cowhig and joining his holistic practice. Combining the mentorship from Dr David Cowhig and his previous training in biomedical science and medical research he’s developed a passion for helping patients realise the often missed link between their dental and general health.
He has a calm chair side manner and is especially gentle with dental procedures. He also received additional training to provide nitrous oxide (happy gas) sedation which is a safe and effective tool in alleviating anxiety, especially for children.
