Dr Sarah V Dan

BDS (Adel), DClinDent (Orth) (Syd), MRACDS (Orth) (Syd), Specialist Orthodontist

Dr Sarah V Dan is a female Specialist Orthodontist.

Sarah completed her Bachelor of Dentistry at the University of Adelaide in 2002 with Dean’s Honours. Following several years in private practice, Sarah went on to complete her Doctor of Clinical Dentistry in Orthodontics at the University of Sydney in 2009. She simultaneously qualified as a Member of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in the specialist field of Orthodontics. In her final year of postgraduate studies she received the Dentsply Prize for best faculty research and the Australian Society of Orthodontists NSW Award for best clinical patient case presentation.

Combining her practice with involvement in the academic arena and membership in relevant professional associations, we sometimes wonder how she does it.

Sarah’s academic affiliations include her role on the Dean’s Advisory Committee for the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Sydney. In this role, the breadth of Sarah’s private practice experience provides valuable input to the university’s course direction.

In her role on the Academic Selection Committee, Sarah is involved in the appointment of academic staff to the department of Orthodontics at the University of Sydney. Sarah also selects the budding orthodontists via the Orthodontic Academic Selection Panel and the Orthodontic Postgraduate Selection Committee.

Apart from that, Sarah also uses her expert knowledge in reviewing scientific journal articles for the Australian Journal of Orthodontics and is a medico-legal expert in assessing orthodontic patient cases.
