Dr Ruby Tyson-De Rek is a female Oral Health Therapist.
After dental assisting for 6 years, Ruby developed a passion for oral health and decided to further her knowledge. She studied a Bachelor of Oral Health at Central Queensland University in Rockhampton. Ruby graduated in 2016 as a Qualified Oral Health Therapist. What’s an Oral Health Therapist you might ask? Very similar to a hygienist however, Ruby can treat children of all ages and carry out all their dental needs as well as treating adults for hygiene appointments.
Ruby recently made the move from her hometown of Roma to join our team in Hervey Bay. She has a keen interest in periodontal care, maintenance and treatment. Ruby’s main focus is dental hygiene, prevention and education. Ruby believes that with good education and oral health knowledge, overall dental health can be improved. Her kind nature and charismatic personality makes visiting the dentist that little bit easier for patients and children who are nervous.
