Dr Richard Huynh is a male General Dentist.
After dabbling in Law, Engineering and Commerce, Richard finally found his passion in Dentistry and graduated with First Class Honours from the University of Queensland. To him, dentistry represents a combination of scientific knowledge and practical hands-on dexterity that is driven by understanding the patient’s needs and wants.
As a result, Richard is heavily patient-centred. He endeavours to not only keep everyone informed of every step, but also to understand his patients as people and thereby allow for a treatment plan to be developed together that would meet his patients’ goals. His empathetic nature coupled with his jovial but professional manner helps even the most anxious patients realise that restoring smiles can restore confidence.
Richard enjoys all areas of general dentistry. In particular, he enjoys technique-sensitive procedures, like root canals, extractions and aesthetic work, because his meticulous personality shines when special attention to detail and careful precision is required.
His favourite motto is to ‘never stand still’. Thus, in a technological world where there is a continually evolving body of knowledge, Richard keeps his skills sharp by engaging in extensive Continuing Professional Development courses and has even contributed to this expanding knowledge base through academic research.
Outside of Avenue Dental, Richard’s philanthropy has led him to volunteer at a rural primary school in Vietnam and he now volunteers regularly to provide dental care to under-privileged population groups in Brisbane.
