BDSc (CSU), General Dentist

Dr Rand HA Younes is a female General Dentist who speaks Arabic (as well as English).

Dr Rand Younes has earned a Bachelor of Dental Science from Charles Sturt University and was awarded a National First Prize award across dental students for her research on the ‘Discolouration of Endodontically treated teeth, prevention and management’ by the Australian Endodontic Society (AES). She is currently undertaking a Masters degree in Prosthodontics and Dentofacial Aesthetics (Syd/UK).

Her journey into dentistry started at a young age during her dental visits to her family friend’s dentist. She was always curious and liked playing around the equipment. Her curiosity drove her to pursue dentistry as a career. Immigrating to Australia at the age of 10 with no English, Dr Rand worked hard in high school to achieve a state ranking in English and Dux of her school. She has won several awards as a dental student and was an active member of the Australian Student Dental Association (ADSA) and now is a member of the Australian Dental Association (ADA) and the Australian Academy of Dento-Facial Aesthetics (AADFA).

Whilst undertaking undergraduate training, Dr Rand discovered that dental disease can be prevented but also that dental health awareness and public education were lagging behind. Dr Rand truly believes that “Prevention is key” and as a result founded an Educational Dental Program at schools and childcare centres which has Impacted over 12,000 children. She is the founder of IMDS which provides dental care and education to children in remote areas, immigrant demographics, and vulnerable communities.
