Dr Neil R McGregor is a male Specialist Periodontist.
Dr Neil McGregor has attained a Bachelor of Dental Science from the University of Sydney, a Masters Degree in Periodontics from the University of Queensland and a PhD, also from the University of Sydney. He has been involved in research with a number of different medical and dental teams at universities in Australia, the USA and Europe, investigating: a) chronic pain aetiology and treatment; b) chronic viral infections and viral reactivation processes and treatments; c) bacterial/host immune interactions and the resultant host based pathology; and d) development of instruments to measure human pathology.
He is a Senior Fellow at the University of Melbourne and is involved in teaching postgraduate students. Dr McGregor is a consultant to a NATA accredited pathology company and to a pharmaceutical company and is the inventor of multiple international patents. Dr McGregor has published extensively in national and international peer reviewed journals and has been an editor of an international journal. He has also made multiple conference presentations both in Australia and internationally. Dr McGregor is a member of many professional bodies including the Australian Dental Association, the Australian Periodontal Society, the International Association of Dental Researchers, the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Periodontology, the Australian Academy of Craniomandibular Disorders and the Royal Australian College Dental Surgeons. He has served on many committees for these organisations.
As a distinguished practitioner, Dr McGregor provides patients of The Dentists with extensive experience in periodontics, chronic face pain and many other dental conditions.
