Dr Merin Alex is a female General Dentist who speaks Arabic, Hindi, Malayalam and Urdu (as well as English).
Dr Merin Alex, graduated Doctor of Dental Surgery from Ajman University of Science and Technology in 2003 in UAE. Since then she has been working with the Ministry of Health and with Medical centre as her public and private practices respectively. Whilst working with the Ministry of Health, she has been involved in research work involving preventive dentistry and extensive experience in treating children with MI hypoplasia and apprehensive children. She was awarded for making the AL Sondous school caries free through her efforts, which later was considered as control for research purposes. Her private practice with Medical centre gave her a very good exposure in all fields of dentistry.
After moving to Australia, Dr Merin joined the University of Melbourne to complete a Graduate Diploma in Clinical Dentistry for which she received a Scholarship from Dental Health Services Victoria (DHSV). DHSV offered her employment with Merri Health.
Since then Dr Merin has been working with the community clinic, helping people achieve the best in maintaining their healthy teeth. Dr Merin’s extensive experience and dedication to dentistry has earned her the opportunity of mentoring UoM final year dental students through the outreach program conducted by UoM and Banyule community health centre. She recalls it as a pleasurable experience of contribution by mentoring next generation of dentist. During which Dr. Merin was given an opportunity to work privately, Dr. Merin was blown away by the different choice of treatment option that can be offered to patients to help them keep their teeth as long as possible, and in getting the treatment that patient wants or needs. The only thing that stands between patients and their expectations is just the patients. Once patient decides that he/she needs that treatment, numbers or waiting periods don’t stand par. Dr.Merin was happy to help her patients who are keen on keeping their teeth once again, that finally she decided to start her own practice, where there is no limits to dreams and wishes.
