BOH, DMD (Syd), General Dentist
Dr Mark PJF Suniga is a male General Dentist who speaks Filipino (as well as English).
Dr Mark Philip’s exposure to the dental world started with him shadowing his dentist aunt’s work in her dental clinic. At a young age, Dr Mark Philip understood how intimidating and vulnerable patients may feel when attending their appointments and how important it is for a dentist to have excellent communication and relationships with patients. Alongside good dental skills, it is how a patient feel when being treated that defines what is a great dentist .
He graduated with a Bachelor of Oral Health at the University of Melbourne in 2010 with both Kwong Lee Dow and Dental Health Services Victoria scholarship. He has worked in both private practices in inner Melbourne and the Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne. With his dedication to patient care, he continued to extend his scope of practice through the extension of adult restorative scope, use of ER:YAG laser to assist in gum treatment, and CBCT (Cone-beam computed tomography) to name a few. Furthermore, he worked in training fellow dental clinicians and staff on practice management and patient communication. Most of his patients came through referrals from family members and friends.
After a few years of practice, Dr Mark Philip decided to pursue further studies and was awarded the degree of Doctor of Dental Medicine at the University of Sydney. His inquisitive nature and desire to learn more earned him the unofficial award of “Most likely to ask question after lecture” by his peers. As part of his training, he worked at Sydney Dental Hospital, Westmead Centre of Oral Health, and Nepean Hospital developing skills in different disciplines of dentistry.
