Dr Kylie M Pearce is a female Specialist Paediatric Dentist.
Dr Kylie is a specialist paediatric dentist. She graduated with honours from the University of Queensland in 1994, before working as a dental officer in the Royal Australian Air Force in Melbourne.
After discharging from the military Dr Kylie worked in a large public dental facility at Tawam Hospital in the United Arab Emirates. It was during her time in the Middle East that she established an interest in dentistry for children, returning to the University of Melbourne in 2000 to complete her Master of Paediatric Dentistry degree. During this time she also completed her Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons.
She has worked at the Children’s Hospital in Brisbane and Melbourne, and is specifically trained in the management of children with special needs.
Dr Kylie moved to the Sunshine Coast in 2003, and established ABC Dentistry soon after. She has been treating children for almost 20 years and has an excellent appreciation for what is involved with completing high quality child dental care.
As a kids dentist, she is passionate about improving the oral health of children on the Sunshine Coast, insisting on providing preventive and educational support to families, along with referral services for local dentists.
Dr Kylie developed a technique for root canal treatment in primary teeth as part of her Master’s research, and uses this standard technique in practice. Her main interests are management of child dental trauma and managing patients with autism spectrum disorder and other behavioural problems.
Dr Kylie has provided dental teaching services at the University of Melbourne, worked for Queensland Health at the Children’s Hospital in Brisbane, and worked as a consultant at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne. She travels to specialist paediatric dentist conferences both in Australia and overseas regularly to ensure that the best kids dentist services are available to all her young patients.
