Dr Helen Fung is a female Specialist Paediatric Dentist.

Dr Helen was born and raised in Townsville. After high school, she moved to Sydney to study dentistry, graduating in 2002 from the University of Sydney with her Bachelor of Dental Surgery. After graduation, she worked for four years as general dentist in numerous clinics in the Hunter Region.

Years of treating adults with poor dental health drove her return to Sydney and specialise in Paediatric Dentistry. This way she could provide education and treatment during childhood, preventing the lifelong damage from happening.

Dr Helen graduated with her Doctorate of Clinical Dentistry (Paediatric Dentistry) in 2010. She was appointed first as a Senior Registrar and later, Staff Specialist at the Westmead Centre for Oral Health, as well as Visiting Staff Specialist for the Hunter New England Oral Health Service.She has also volunteered to provide dental care to children in orphanages in Vietnam, as well as with the indigenous populations in the Northern Territory.

Following the birth of her first child in 2014, Dr Helen decided to move up to Brisbane with her family. Currently, along with running Tooth Town, she is also working part time as a Staff Specialist at the Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital. In addition, she is involved in the teaching of dental and oral health students, and lecturing to medical and dental professionals. Her special interests include dental trauma, dental anomalies, minor oral surgery, and tongue ties.

As part of her continued expertise, Dr Helen attends various educational courses, keeping up-to-date on the latest technology and procedures. Her goal is to provide children with dental care that is both compassionate and of the best quality. Dr. Helen has over 15 years of experience in dentistry and will never settle for anything but her very best.
