BDS (Syd), General Dentist
Dr Graham M Hawkins is a male General Dentist.
Graham graduated from Sydney University in 1984. As an undergraduate he was awarded the pre-clinical operative dentistry award for 1st in his year and the University of Sydney Dental Alumni award for excellence in operative dentistry.
After graduation Graham worked at Westmead Hospital for 2 years where he spent much of his time in Paediatric Dentistry. There he realised the merits of non-extraction orthopaedic orthodontics.
After leaving the hospital Graham went into Private Practice at Castle Hill and St Clair. In 1998 he opened Inform Dental in Penrith and has owned and managed the practice since.
Graham has been active in non-extraction orthopaedic orthodontics since 1987 and is a member of the International Orthodontic Association. He has undertaken many courses over the years, with an understanding that maintaining teeth rather than extraction to align teeth would provide more aesthetic and symmetrical faces and maintain airways as there is a strong craniofacial pain association with airway problems and Facial Growth.
Graham has also been active in the treatment of jaw pain, headaches and sleep disordered breathing for 20 years and has undertaken advanced courses in all these areas. He is an active Board member of the Australian chapter of the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain who are regularly engaged in educational programmes for craniofacial pain and sleep disordered breathing, conducting yearly scientific symposiums and workshops in these areas.
Graham continues to undertake education programmes to further his knowledge of the latest advances in dental medicine in order to provide patients with the best possible care. He has completed advanced training in cosmetic dentistry and dental implants and provides treatment in these areas.
