New laws to be introduced by the Australian Government on 1 May 2013 are great news for fans of a whiter smile. The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) raised concerns more than a year ago that the concentration of hydrogen peroxide contained in teeth whitening products was too high and posed a safety risk, particularly when used in the home without professional supervision. This resulted in a de facto ban on the sale of teeth whitening products with a concentration of greater than 6% hygrogen peroxide and the equivalent 18% carbamide peroxide. |
